Set against the backdrop of the seedy underbelly in Bombay, Mumtaz (Tabu) flees her village with her uncle after losing her family in a communal strife. Circumstances lead her to take up a job as a bar dancer at Chandni Bar. Potya (Atul Kulkarni), a small-time gangster who frequents Chandni Bar, is besotted with Mumtaz. When she confronts her alcoholic uncle who lives off her earnings, she is sexually molested. On finding out that she was molested, Potya kills her uncle and marries her to give her a safe and happy future. She leaves the bar to stay home and happily settles in marital bliss. A few years later, life takes an unfair and cruel turn for Mumtaz. Potya is killed in an encounter and she is left to fend for herself and her teenage children. Watch as Mumtaz and her family fall into the traps of crime, vengeance and betrayal. Will she have to trade her soul to the devil again just to be able to keep her family together?
